The Coton de Tulear and AKC

It seems that some Coton breeders are hell bent on bringing the Coton de Tulear
to AKC recognition. The Coton de Tulear was brought here in the 70's and
has remained a rare breed dog. The AKC is in bed with the puppy mills. They run on
the money they receive from registrations. Almost like a Wall Street kind of deal.
The people that run it are making gobs of cash. They really don't care about the dogs.
They are present at auctions, handing out registration papers to all the puppy mill
puppies. Many very ill.

As a breeder, I've received many a phone call asking why my pups cost more than
some of the $300 pups they are finding on the internet..I just want to scream,
"HEY PEOPLE, HAVE YOU EVER WATCHED OPRAH"??? "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD"
The Coton de Tulear breeders that are fighting to ruin our breed are doing it for...well
are you ready for this? They are doing it because there will be more shows in their
area. Huh? I won't even go there. I just think that if you are looking on my website
or blog, you are interested in possibly bringing a Coton puppy into your home.
BUT, before you go any further...please watch this video..so you will understand
why you would never buy a puppy from a pet store or puppy mill.
One more thing...when you are interviewing breeders, ask them if they voted yes
for AKC...although they may not answer you truthfully, you will certainly know when
they start to register their dogs with AKC and bring their dogs to prance around in the
show rings of AKC shows.
Renaissance Cotons will NEVER register their dogs or puppies with the AKC. We will
not dirty our hands and be involved in this in any way. We will not mingle our
pedigrees with those puppy mill pups that are probably not even 100% Coton.
Regardless, these dogs live a horrible and painful life and Renaissance Cotons, I repeat,
will NEVER be involved in this.
Renaissance Cotons will re-publish this post often for all the see.

This is an excellent post. I appreciate your willingness to take a stand based on your convictions and ethics and also for providing this information to the public who may not understand that AKC supports puppy mills.

Thank you.
